Money as Medicine Workshops & Retreats
Entry points for individuals, foundations, and organizations beginning their journey toward reparative philanthropy.

Money as Medicine™ Workshop
For philanthropic organizations or groups of any size. A transformative 3–5 hour workshop and experience - available virtually or in-person - that traces the extractive history of wealth accumulation and its enduring harms in how money flows today. Using Edgar Villanueva’s Seven Steps to Healing, participants explore their histories with wealth and the possibilities when money is reimagined as a tool for repair and healing. Designed for broad audiences, including foundations, philanthropy-serving organizations, corporations, and faith communities, the workshop closes with a concrete commitment to shift giving practices and to invest in historically underrepresented communities.

Money as Medicine Retreats
A small group healing experience. These intimate, bespoke multi-day retreats are designed for high-net-wealth individuals ready to move beyond transactional giving and into a deeper, more embodied relationship with wealth and healing in serene environments with peers. Our retreats address the psychological, relational, and spiritual dimensions of wealth, leading to more generous, effective, and joyful giving—creating donors who give, not from obligation, but from a place of healing and clarity.

Healing & Community Offerings
Spaces and communities that center healing, connection, and collective repair.

Healing Summits
Wealth accumulation has caused personal and collective harm, leaving those of us who work in philanthropy feeling isolated, anxious, and exploited. DWP's signature Healing Summit, Heal with Us, has been offered to philanthropic professionals since 2021 and has reached over 400 individuals to date. A day-long gathering that draws on ancestral healing practices that take us from a space of grief to joyous connection to ourselves and each other.

Donor Advisor Network
A learning community designed for donor advisors ready to deepen their practice and integrate reparative principles into their client relationships. Through curated resources, learning opportunities, and peer connection with like-minded advisors, DWP equips donor advisors with a peer learning community and the resources to guide their clients toward healing-centered, reparative giving.

Liberated Capital
Launched in 2019, Liberated Capital is DWP's multi-racial, intergenerational, cross-wealth-giving community of 700+ individual members and institutional donors that moves resources through a reparative giving model that trusts and supports the leadership of those most impacted. 100% of membership funding supports organizations predominantly led by Black, Indigenous, and other historically under-resourced communities.

Funder Tables
DWP holds regular and periodic donor learning and action communities, including the Reparative Action Funders Collaborative (RAFC) for foundation staff who are committed to funding healing and repair work, and the Reparative Philanthropy Community of Practice, a 12-month learning and coaching experience for foundations exploring the praxis of reparative philanthropy through a cohort model. Criteria for joining these communities vary; please connect with our team for more information.
